Thank you for your interest in my work. I was born in the sunny San Fernando Valley and have spent my whole life in southern California. As the youngest child born into an artistic family, my desire to create was ignited at a very young age. Although I graduated from California State University Northridge with a degree in apparel design, I always gravitated more towards my illustration and textile design classes. It was here that I also learned manipulation of fabrics which I later transitioned into manipulation of papers which can be seen in my art today. I spent many years working in the fashion design and wholesale industry of clothing and shoes, and that experience has influenced my art as well. With my dimensional collage pieces I am able to get lost for hours manipulating and cutting recycled papers, fabrics, wire, and other found objects and combining those with a mix of acrylic paints to create my images within shadowbox spaces. I love the uninhibited feeling this type of art gives me as it allows me to work with a variety of materials in unlimited ways.
